How can we stop microplastic pollution?
At CleanWaters, our humble commitment is to address the pressing issue of microplastic pollution through innovative solutions for monitoring, detecting, and responsibly removing microplastics.
Who we are?
We are spinoff project from Aalto University Product development project & Attract EU course. We are made in a community of bold thinkers, we learn by doing. Our passion for prototyping and care for the environment has led us to this path. Our co-founders team are.
What we do?
Automated Sample Processing System
Our team has developed an innovative automated system that replaces the cumbersome and costly manual sample processing procedures currently in use. Not only will our solution drastically reduce costs, but it will also mitigate the risk of cross contamination and health hazards associated with the handling of microplastics. Our concept prototype, programmed based on the tried-and-tested methodology of the Finnish Environment Institute, is paving the way towards a cleaner and healthier planet.
Further Development & Road Map
We are currently in the process of redesign the main container of the sample processor for Additive manufacturing, with Glassomoer technology we will be able 3D print specific parts in glass. Furthermore we are also looking at currently under developing technologies of microplastic detection to potentially integrate it with our sample processing system in the future.
Helsinki University Biosphere Incubator
We are part of Biosphere 6 month incubation program at the University of Helsinki to make a bigger impact & get elevated onto a trajectory leading our innovation to create a sustainable difference in the current global ecosystem. Read more about the program.
Pilot with PDP-2024 course
We have presented the microplastic pollution challenge to Aalto University’s PDP course, and an international group of students with diverse backgrounds has come together to address the challenge within a budget of €10,000 for a 9-month period. You can find more information about PDP on the website.
